WELCOME TO ARYA SAMAJ MANDIR IN ALIGARH

The Arya Samaj Mandir In Aligarh is a socio-cultural organization founded by Swami Dayanand Saraswati in 1875. The mission of the Samaj is to mould the lives of its members and all others according to the message of the Vedas with reference to the circumstances of the time and place.

The Vedas are the poetry of eternity in meta language. They are pure knowledge, primary, original, universal, complete, revealed at the dawn of creation for all mankind without distinction or discrimination of race or colour, caste or creed or sex. The idea behind this universality is: God is one, His creation is one, his law is one, Humanity is one, Revelation is one; all that follows is historical and relative justifiable as corrective with reference back to the universal.

The Arya Samaj was founded by Swami Dayanand Saraswati Arya Samaj weddings are conducted as per the Arya Marriage Validation act X1X of 1937, and are performed as per Vedic rites. Arya Samaj Marriage which was started by ‘Dayanand Saraswati’ in the year 1875 is governed by people known as ‘Arya’. The marriage is based on the concept of Vedas, which is considered as the poetry of eternity in meta language. Arya Samaj supports love marriages, inter cast marriage, and inter-religion marriages. We work with a holy aim to remove the rigid caste and religion barriers from our Indian society.

Any person who are Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, Sikhs can perform Arya Samaj Marriage. As a basic principle, the Arya Samaj conducts weddings only for Hindus. But, if a non-Hindu couple would like to have an Arya Samaj wedding, the Samaj allows them to get converted through a process called ‘Shuddhi’. Any person who are not Muslims, Christians, Parsis or Jews can also perform Arya Samaj Marriage. Inter-Caste Marriages and Inter-Religious Marriages can also be performed in a Arya Samaj Marriage provided none of the marrying persons are Muslims, Christians, Parsis or Jews. If any of the marrying persons are Muslims, Christians, Parsis or Jews, and out of their free will and consent are ready to convert and embrace Hindu Religion, the Arya Samaj Mandir perform a ritual called “shuddhi” meaning purification for such conversion, and thereafter, such a convert can perform Arya Samaj Marriage. The minimum age for getting married is 21yrs for the groom and 18yrs for the bride. The Arya Samaj does not believe in idol worship and the wedding ceremony is performed with the fire and other elements as the witnesses.
